Portraits don't quite do people justice, no matter how lifelike they become through magic. But they are fascinating to study, nonetheless.
[ He is 100% sure that he will not grow up a balding old man with long white beard, and he will die on that damn hill. ]
An inquiry for those who use this form of communication: how many of you studied in Hogwarts? I would enjoy reading your experiences, should you wish to share them.
[ but really — tell him everything. ]

I would like to know your experiences in your school, of course. Durmstrang is not a name known to me, but it pleases me that more establishments have been created to promote a safe learning environment for young individuals.

It is a school in the North; our subjects are as wide-spread as Hogwarts' are. Our castle is grand and quiet - we only light fires for purposes of magic but the school is kept warm through other methods. It was... I have few words to describe it. It was the first place that I felt as though I belonged somewhere.
I had not realized it was a problem until I was there.

It does beg the question of how vastly different this world has truly become, beyond that of what I remember of my own.

[ psychopathic. ]
Durmstrang nurtured my personal interests. It was a good fit.
I suppose that depends on the state of the time you left, Herr...?

PRIVATE.
Tell me, what knowledge do you have regarding the founders of Hogwarts?

It is a mess, in my opinion. We deserve so much better.
privated.
Enough to know that your views fit most neatly with my own, Herr Slytherin.
[ yes, that tiny push was all it took for him to know his sneaking suspicion was correct. ]

It seems that though some things changes, others remain the same.
PRIVATED.
I'm pleased to hear that there are still those who remain true to a worthy cause.
Though others might say that my views are... ancient. I am a dead man, to most of these people. [ Prominent, of course, but so very dead. ]
ad infinitum.
Just because something comes from old ideas does not mean that it loses credibility. There are still many that hold to your same cause.
I may not be quite dead yet to these people but I found myself quite the cause for alarm when I arrived - apparently, I was imprisoned.
Now I am a mere child they cannot bring themselves to lock away for acts I have not committed. I am simply going to use this time to learn from mistakes I have not made yet.

[ he'd mostly focused on anything hogwarts-related, but there's a surprising amount of literature regarding his relationship with godric. what they know and what he knows differ in the minuscule details, but the main picture remains similar. his beliefs set him aside from peers, and he becomes the traitor, the one deemed wrong. ]
You are correct in saying that I have made a strong impression to those that felt as strongly as I did, but I had hoped to create a must more lasting impact in our community. These people face the same dilemma now as I did in my time, when they hope I had when I aided in the creation of the school was for the future generations to learn and improve on our past failures.
Perhaps that can be addressed once more now that I am here. I certainly would like to see how Hogwarts is faring now.
