I've always said there's no escaping the past, but this isn't exactly what I meant.
Were I a younger man, I think I might have tried to make a life here. As it stands now I just want to get home.
I've a question, however: is the registry being used to perhaps reunite those that may not find each other otherwise or is it simply a tracking mechanism? I personally don't need that sort of service but with the state of things it seems important to allow people familiarity.

It's very kind of you to put it this way. I'm glad that people are being so understanding of the situations that people are coming from. It is difficult for them - especially the young ones - to go from a war-torn society to something that seems so idyllic. I hope you can understand how it may seem too good to be true.
Still, with such a genuine desire to help, I'm sure you'll win over more and more of those that hold worries soon enough.

While there is fear on our side as well - as you can imagine, it's at the very least startling to have friends and family long dead or not yet born appear - it's the displaced who have the most reason to feel lost and afraid. We acknowledge that, and there's been some discussion already of how best to help all of you. Particularly the children, of course; this must be even more terrifying for those who aren't yet adults.
I certainly hope we can appease the concerns of as many of you as possible, if only because it will improve our chances of helping.

I feel very deeply for the children that are stuck here instead of where they belong. I'm very glad that the Ministry is helping them - I saw the announcement and I'm pleasantly surprised. Hogwarts has always been the best and safest place for young witches and wizards, after all.
[ except when tom riddle is in any kind of power and it makes his stomach turn to think about but he's going to play this role as much as he needs to, damn it ]
The quick responses I've been receiving have done much to appease me, I assure you.

and any of them could suddenly arrive in our time.
Hogwarts is the most secure place for the young, and the professors stand ready as a defense, though I do sincerely hope it isn't necessary, just as I sincerely hope we've been able to put your concerns to rest.

[ :) ]
I sincerely hope the same. I wish for everyone's safety first and foremost, and for the meeting of views just after that. It it likely to be a difficult road to that point, but with careful work I view it as attainable.
[ that's fine. it's anon for a reason. ]

I hope we can come up with a solution for returning you to your own time soon; you seem to have the potential to add much to our own time, but of course I understand your own life must be lived.

and indeed, the resolution of this issue in as swift and satisfactory manner as possible.
It's my hope that many of the displaced have your perspective.
