If you were, or are, the type of student who didn't hand their homework in on time, then you are the worst sort of person.

On another note, what would you consider an apt punishment for a terrible crime?

So eager to read those dream diaries.

I am personally given to evisceration. They certainly won't commit any further crimes.

But, if your aim is vigilante justice and you wish to leave no traces...

Isn't failing them instantly an option?

Oh, I rather like the idea. Statistically, ( and she has taken her job as an obliviator ever so seriously ) if one were to temporarily blind and deafen them during their just punishment, obliviating them would remove the very obvious trauma of feeling as though they are drowning, while possibly leaving them to struggle with silence and darkness for a rather long while after for no easily discernible reason.

I daresay this calls for a parent-teacher conference.

( She trusts Alecto to be able to handle three idiots at once and have some fun while doing so. )

If you don't invite me, you may as well keep me updated on the results.

Oh, I would suggest fire for the next one. For the contrast.

Saturday is the earliest I can do. There has been an endless amount of restructuring.

The more severe the punishment, the more likely they are to learn the lesson, don't you think?

If I have to tell you how to torture a lazy fourth year, darling, I shall have to come to Hogwarts to make sure you're feeling well.

Bellatrix's right, you know. Refuse to accept late assignments and then they'll live in fear of Howlers.

[ So cute, that they think a Howler's as bad as life gets. ]

Private

You could send them into the Forbidden Forest. It's a time-honored Hogwarts tradition for punishment, and it's MUCH easier to access the Forest than the rest of the school.
malificence: (that's just adorable)

That's certainly true enough. I believe my father sent me the howlers, and my mother sent Professor Slughorn the howlers.

[ Merely for appearances, of course. His mother hadn't ultimately cared much for him. ]

I've been experimenting with a hex that makes whatever happens to be around you close in until you can't breathe. I imagine it would be delightful in the woods.

He's still got quite a voice on him, but the howlers aren't so common these days. Just as well, it probably would be unseemly.

It's quite unfortunate how few people appreciate the value of a walk in the forest. It's almost as if they expect monsters to jump out and torture them.

I do hope you don't consider a student turning in an assignment late to be a "terrible crime" worth punishing.

I wasn't sure how distinct your "other note" was meant to be. My, but it's difficult to read tone through text!

It is still a lovely little spell! We had nothing like this in my time. Correspondence via owls would take far too long to carry out a written conversation like this.
