Personally, I'm just wondering why the "time deviant" curfew is still more lenient than that of muggle-borns.
Anyway, my real point is this: for any of those lost from your own times that know your way around a cauldron, I'm offering work. It's only part-time, but it's all I have. My shop, Auturgy, is in Diagon Alley - if you can't find it, just ask 'round for Lily Evans and you'll find me soon enough.
If you have problems working under a muggle-born, don't bother applying.

[Things Ron does not care about: blood status. Things at the top of the list of shit he cares about: curfew!!
--Also the fact that he is apparently talking to Harry's mum and Harry doesn't exist yet and everything is bonkers.]

Sounds like a loophole worth exploiting. [i.e. don't trust the ministry never tell the truth lie about everything forever!!!]

privated.
And so, which would you be, Mssr. Weasley?

[Ron will eventually get better at caution. eventually.]
ad infinitum.
Most people believe it all to be a good move.
[ caution would probably be wise, yes. ]

[He doesn't realize that probably sounds insane to someone not coming from where he's coming from, not yet anyway.]
Restricting people is never a good move, especially if all they're basing it on is blood status. Not with the people who're in charge.

[ YEAH IT SOUNDS REAL NUTS ]
No one has any better ideas, unfortunately. However, it's based off of the danger level presented. Since muggle-borns are being targeted more, the restrictions are tighter.
It's awful but there's little to be done for it.

[His writing is rushed; he is Very Angry, and feels only completely bizarre trying not to argue with Harry's mum.]
You don't know what these people are capable of yet. The ones running the ministry. Everything is wrong here, [E V E R Y T H I N G] but they're just the same.

Something I've heard rather a lot recently from the displaced.

I still haven't got your name.

[There's a long hesitation, but if he can't trust Harry's mum, who in this mad universe is he supposed to trust?]
It's Ron. And there's plenty looking out for you, yeah? Your friends
the Ma[He strikes the last out, unable to remember how widespread that little name was. He does suddenly wonder if they could repeat the map with wizarding London, though.]

Merlin, I can't say 'but how you've grown' when I only just met my own son almost as old as I am.
I'll always trust them, of course.

Harry's here???!!!

Yes, I've just recently seen him. I think he's staying with James and Sirius? I'm not positive.

where is that???

[Literally because his writing is probably chicken scratch in his urgency. Harry'shereHarry'shereHarry'shere is on repeat in his mind. How many weeks has he been looking at home? He has no idea how he's meant to apologize for everything, but he has to find his friend first.
Which means finding his mom's shop first. He will try not to burst in. Try.]

Ron, then? Calm down, he's not going anywhere. The boys are all obsessed with him.
[ lily is too, a little, but she's better at hiding it. ]

Still, he tries to suck in a breath, seeing her writing something. The address maybe? It takes just about everything in him not to grab it and run, but the part that isn't consumed with finding his best mate is thrown at meeting his best mate's mum. She does have his eyes, just like - how many people have said?]
Bet he is right back. [It comes out as a bit of a mutter, because who can blame him? Ron feels like trash for telling Harry what he did. You don't have parents. He's a terrible friend, and he has to fix it.]
When'd you see him last? Did - did he look all right? [Not caught be snatchers while he was gone, hopefully.]

[ there's a moment where she glances at the door, frowns, then looks back to ron. ] He's not going to register, so far as I know. If he is, he's not going to let anyone know he's mine. Just his father's. But I don't think he is at all.
[ so there's an air of caution there - and lily is encouraging it, apparently. ] There aren't many places that'll hire someone that's not registered. Better then that he's here.

What, really?
[Ron's eyebrows jump as he looks around, picturing Harry at work. With his mum. In 1980...It's not easy. But it also gets put on hold when she continues.]
Good, he can't, it's not - it won't be safe, for him especially.
[He bites his lip once he's spoken, but - really, he's worried about what he says to Lily Potter? That just feels foolish.]
