Going by how different those displaced from their own times are from those that people from this time remember them to be, has anyone begun to wonder what they would be like should the same thing happen to them?

More seriously, yes, of course. It already seems that we've deviated in some ways, major and minor, from what the future considers to have been history.

I've heard it's a very different world. War-torn in a way ours is not. War is the type of thing that is likely to cause people - even us - to take actions that seem "absurd," to use your own word.

But we're not at war, so it may be we never become who we evidently are there.
