Does anyone else find it odd that every month is only 10 days long here?

You get used to it after a while.

It doesn't make any sense, though. It should throw everything off-kilter.

If I went home to where I grew up right now it would be what, the ninth? The going theory is that the days are longer but no one notices.

I divide each day into three and just go from there. It doesn't quite work but it's close enough.

It's very odd and awkward. I always send things a day (here) early just in case.

I simply assumed it was normal for this time. It's been something like ten centuries since I was around, after all.

At this point, I'm exhausted with surprises. I'm not certain I can find the energy to be alarmed anymore.

There are probably many things about your time that we would consider confusing and strange, I'd guess. My grandfather liked to say the schedule was based upon the moon cycle analyses of Julian of Kinross.

How is that even possible?

Count me in for yes because I do find it strange

I'm glad I'm not the only one not used to this

Otherwise it seems to be the way of things for everyone else here

Perhaps the lengthening of the dates is related to the increase of magic in the atmosphere. It's a question that warrants a bit of research.

Not necessarily. A disproportionately large concentration of magic can affect reality. Consider, there are a few very powerful magical items that can rewind time. Gather enough in one place and the structure of time itself becomes more viscous, somewhat similar to honey. It flows much more slowly.

Time can be a tricky thing. From what I am learning, there are multiple variations of time that perhaps co-exist in the same moment. It would explain the variety of people who have arrived with knowledge of events that have yet to occur. There is something strange about this moment, however. We all seem to be drawn to this one point. Why this particular spot in this one strange time where days stretch and have done so for as long as anyone can remember? I'm uncertain of the answer as my research has only just begun.

You have a fascinatingly inquisitive mind. I should have liked to have you as one of my students.

Can you? Excellent. Then we must be on the right track! Still, more research is needed.

Yes, it is very difficult to tell, especially through the use of pseudonyms. One mustn't be too careful these days.

Or access to Hogwarts Library. There is a rather extensive Restricted Section.

Caution, but not overly cautious.
